Amanda Ovaici exemplifies leadership through action, breaking barriers and fostering meaningful change as a first-generation Canadian woman. With an Honours degree in Philosophy and a Business minor from the University of Calgary, she began her professional journey in marketing and business development. However, her desire to make a substantial impact led her to pivot towards law, earning her degree from the University of Southampton, a top 100 global university and Russell Group institution.

Called to the Alberta Bar in 2020, Amanda has built a legal practice focused on Family Law, Employment Law, and Civil litigation Law. She is particularly passionate about supporting marginalized voices, including women facing systemic barriers and violence. While studying in England, she distinguished herself by working with the European Union on its animal welfare program—an early indication of her commitment to advocacy and change. Amanda also worked closely with a local Investor Group that successfully raised $25 million to invest in Alberta’s Oil Sands. She led the negotiations and was involved in all legal matters. Her diverse background provides her with in-depth knowledge on the day-to-day operations of a business and allows her to better cater to her clients legal needs. She has an outstanding ability to connect with others and foster long-term partnerships based on trust and mutual respect.

Beyond her legal practice, Amanda is a dedicated community builder. She co-founded FuckUp Nights YYC, a successful event that destigmatize failure and cultivates a culture of resilience within the entrepreneurial community. Through this platform, they aim to nurture a supportive ecosystem where entrepreneurs can candidly share challenges, derive insights, and emerge stronger.

Her entrepreneurial spirit extends to Café Alchemist as one of the founders, a culinary project inspired by her and her partner’s global travels. The café reflects her passion for cultural exploration and serves as a vibrant community space for Calgarians.

Amanda also contributes her expertise to community initiatives. As a Board Member with CICBA, she advocates for policies that promote economic growth, including solutions for Calgary’s housing crisis.

Despite her demanding schedule, Amanda swaps her many hats for a cozy moment with her family, especially with her adventurous baby girl. But don’t let Amanda’s corporate demeanor fool you—this adrenaline junkie loves skydiving and globe-trotting. Whether she’s leaping out of planes or jumping on the next one for a new adventure, Amanda is proof that a fearless approach to life can leave a lasting impact.
